Sagaramudra Buddhist Society was
established with the primary purpose of propagating the teaching of Lord
Buddha with the hope of alleviating the suffering of all sentient beings
(as a result of their ignorance, attachment and ill-will)
and to improve
one’s mind, enhance one’s character, quality of life and purify our
society..
The society also plans to set up training
centres throughout this region to provide a conducive environment for
practicing BUDDHISM.
To achieve our mission, the Society will
a) conduct
Dharma classes and disseminate the teaching as widely as possible;
b)
cultivate
Sangha Talents;
c) impart meditation techniques and
knowledge to all our members and participants;
d) undertake
publications of Buddhist books and journals;
e)
giving
guidance on the Buddhist practice in daily life;
f)
educate
our members on the importance and significance of Buddhist sites,
ceremonies and celebrations.
g) perform charitable work and social
services for the benefits of the underprivileged and needy;
and
h) offer scholarships,
education subsidies and bursaries to deserving candidates to further
their studies in the hope that they will contribute and play
an active leadership role in the future development of Buddhism.
